Real Wedding: Bela & Khurrum (Via Amna Hakim)
Vintage 1960’s Bollywood Inspiration
With red, gold, and white as their colours, it seems as though Bela and Khurrum stuck with tradition, and the results are reminiscent of a vintage 1960’s Bollywood production.
For starters, the bride’s beautiful red lengha takes on the simplicity of an older time, but is fashionable and sophisticated. It doesn’t detract attention from her whatsoever, and she looks like she could’ve just stepped out of a classic film.
As for Bela’s second lengha, the train on it is amazing! It’s a contemporary update to a fairlylengha, and is a timeless piece that would’ve been stylish in the 60’s, and will continue to be for generations.
Their vintage car just adds to the old-world feel. The shot of the couple from the rear of the car is amazing – it illustrates the couple starting their journey together into marriage.
As for their décor, take a moment to look at the backdrops. The first one has a grand feel to it, with fabric draping the high ceilings, and a red and gold accents to frame it all. Rather than sitting beneath an arch, the columns are behind the couple and are on either side of them – like Bela’s lengha, this puts the focus on them. The textured red backdrop for their reception doesn’t need much explanation – it’s very pretty, and keeps with the concept of highlighting the couple on the stage.
